Karuna Trust, started in 1986, is affiliated with the Vivekananda Girjana Kalyan Kendra an Integrated Tribal Development project located in BR Hills. We help the tribal people in aspects of Health, Livelihood and advocacy areas. The organization believes in providing need based, people oriented and culturally acceptable mentors using appropriate technology with minimum cost to the community.

Our Vision is for a society in which we syrive to provide an equitable and integrated model of healthcare, education and livelihoods by empowering marginalized people to become self-reliant.

Our Mission is to develop a dedicated service minded team that enables holistic development of marginalized people through innovative replaceable models with a passion for excellence.

We provide Primary Health Care, Mobile Health units, Secondary Health care, Mental Health care center and Education.

Some of our innovations in our Primary Health care programmer are : Comprehensive Eye Care, family Planning, Mental Health, Mobile Dental Health, Management of Non-Communicable Diseases, Mainstreaming Traditional Medicine Ayurveda, Yoga & Homeopathy (AYUSH), Emergency Medica Services, Community Health Insurance, Management of Communication Disorder and Model Urban primary health care centers. All these services are provided in the remote tribal areas of Karnataka, Orissa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
