This project was started in 2008, the aim of the project is to help the homeless, mentally ill, women in Mysore district, Karnataka. We have had patients who range from age of 18 to 60.
We rescue the homeless, abandoned mentally ill women and we take them in through judicial custody. At Manasa we provide psychiatric treatment, vocational training and rehabilitate them by finding their community or their family.
We currently house 25 to 30 women at Manasa. On an average, we spent Rs. 250 per person per day, which is Rs. 27,37,500 per year, which will include clothing, food, medication, counseling, vocational training and re-habilitation.
Total cost of living expenses for 30 women – Rs. 27,37,500 p.a.
Cost per women – Rs. 91,250 p.a.
Cost per women – Rs. 7,604 p.a.
