Health – Energy Project
In association with SELCO, we have pioneered in harnessing renewable energy. The Health- Energy project focuses on using renewable energy (SOLAR), in healthcare settings. Health centres manged by Karuna Trust are equipped with solar panels and power back-up facilities to a capacity sufficient for uninterrupted functioning of all equipment, including ILR, deep freezer, autoclave, suction machines etc. This is especially beneficial for health centres in remote, hilly/ tribal areas where lack of power supply is an impending factor for service delivery. This model is also cost effective in the long run, hence sustainable and scalable.
